Storage and Media Center

I’m so excited to share this storage and media center we built for the kids’ books, art, and toys.  I wanted it to be a distressed finish, to match the barn wood and flooring of the basement.  It’s not quite done yet, but its getting close! [Read more…]

Sunflower Table

Don’t you love it when your DIY turns out the way you imagined it, the FIRST time??? This was the case for this awesome antique table that has been in Hubs’ family.  I used four different stains to create this flower, and it was SOOOO easy! Really.  And didn’t take long at all.  Probably 2 hours total, start to finish. IMG_0081 [Read more…]

Dresser in Annie Sloane’s Aubusson Blue

This was literally the easiest paint project! This was a dresser that one of our neighbors was going to throw out.  It was an ugly dark stain, but it was solid wood and in perfect condition!! IMG_6541

Weathered Wood Desk with Annie Sloan Paint

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my full Disclaimer policy here.

This sweet little writing desk.  It was so easy to use Annie Sloan’s chalk paint to create this look. The great thing about Annie’s chalk paint is that you don’t need to prep the piece at all.  Just give it a cleaning if it needs it.  This piece was your typical “golden oak” color when I got it on Craigslist for $100.  I didn’t take a “before,” I just knew I wanted to give this an old wood treatment.

Corner Command Center Part 2: Lower Built-In Desk

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my full Disclaimer policy here.

Today I am so excited to share with you how I made the lower built-in desk. It was really easy and fun, only took me about 4 hours total (doesn’t include all of the wait time necessary for staining the wood and painting the base tho!)IMG_7007-4032743084-1516456487541.jpg

Here you can see the “before” pictures as well as a description of how I made the upper cabinet and cubbies.  [Read more…]

Indian Inlay Stenciled Night Tables

This post may contain affiliate links, please see my full Disclaimer policy here.

This might be my favorite project of all time.  It was so easy with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Clear Wax.  I started out with two beat-up nightstands that I got for $20 each on Craigslist. They were pretty dinged up, but had great wood bones. I just used them as-is for about 2 years before finally deciding to create an Indian Inlay pattern with paint.
